Come January 26th 2015, I will be embarking on a 5 month journey to Europe and studying at an art school in Florence, Italy. I am in my last few weeks of the fall semester of my junior year at Arkansas and have more than enough to do before I leave next month. I am currently an Art major and with that I have learned about the extensive amount of art that can be found in Florence. This will help me further my knowledge in the field of art and hopefully grow and develop my own work. By starting this blog I hope (fingers crossed) to keep everyone updated on my daily encounters, breath taking views, and the cultural differences, as much as I possibly can. Thanks to my parents, I am able to go on this amazing trip and engulf myself in many new experiences. Never having left the United States, I could not be more ecstatic to be going to a different country, let alone a different continent. I know I will miss my family, and probably a variety of things from the US, but I can't wait to immerse myself in a country so different than ours.
While in Florence I hope to completely immerse myself in the Florentine environment. I want to not only learn about the art, but absorb everything I can about the locals. I am looking forward to having the ability to travel to so many different places. I cant wait to create moments that I will remember forever. I will breathe the air of foreign places, love the unfamiliar, learn to trust strangers, and more. My journey will begin to unfold in front of me and I will let my own curiosity be my guide. I want to learn more about myself and my surroundings. Travel. Of course studying is why I am there, but travel is less than a step behind.
I have written lists, typed word documents, pinned thousands of places on Pinterest, and I can't wait to cross them all off. I have started to come up with a bucket list of the things I know I want to accomplish and will share that with you soon! I desperately need to prioritize where I want to visit, what I want to buy, which foods I want to try, or else I know I will be stuck in my villa in Florence with no money. I Hope you enjoyed my first post and can't wait to share all my new adventures in the upcoming months!
